ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

J&L Harley-Davidson/Buell has one of the finest service teams in the motorcycle industry. All of our service techs are trained specifically on the Harley-Davidson® and Buell® lines of motorcycles. J&L Harley-Davidson/Buell is also an exclusive provider of Dyno Service, which helps keep your bike in tip-top shape. Whether it’s routine maintenance, adding some Genuine H-D® accessories, or a repair, we’ll make sure your bike is treated with the same high level of care as we treat our own bikes.

The following is a listing of items checked during routine maintenance appointments:

1,000 Mile Maintenance (Will vary by model)

  1. Change engine oil and filter
  2. Inspect oil lines and brake system for leaks
  3. Inspect air cleaner and service as required
  4. Check tire pressure and inspect tread F__________lbs R___________lbs
  5. Check tightness of wheel spokes
  6. Replace transmission lubricant
  7. Check clutch adjustment
  8. Check primary chain adjustment
  9. Inspect rear belt and sprockets and adjust belt
  10. Check, adjust, and lube throttle, brake enrichener and clutch controls
  11. Inspect and lube jiffy stand
  12. Inspect fuel valve, lines, and fittings for leaks
  13. Check brake fluid levels and condition
  14. Inspect brake pads and discs for wear
  15. Check spark plugs
  16. Check operation of electrical equipment & switches
  17. Check & adjust engine idle speed
  18. Adjust steering head bearings
  19. Inspect shock absorbers
  20. Check tightness of Critical fasteners
  21. Road Test

5,000 Mile Maintenance (Will vary by model)

  1. Change engine oil and filter

  18. Check rear master cylinder outer boot
  19. Replace brake rubber components in master cylinder pistons and calipers.
  20. Lube master cylinder pistons.
  21. Check spark plugs and replace if necessary
  22. Check operation of electrical equipment and switches
  23. Check and adjust engine idle speed
  24. Inspect shock absorbers
  25. Road test
